Camp Overview

Bear Creek Camp is a Christian Camp in Northeast Pennsylvania accredited by the American Camp Association and a member of Lutheran Outdoor Ministries. We are a week-long residential camp serving kids aged 7-18. Our camp is located on nearly 3000 acres of wooded land with hiking trails, streams, and a lake. Campers stay in modern cabins supervised by staff throughout the week. Our program is centered around small-group community with an emphasis on outdoor experiences. We also operate a traveling day camp program that reaches out into congregations within our region. BCC is located 20 minutes from the city of Wilkes-Barre and within two hours of Philadelphia and New York City.

Staff Time Off

Staff are given time off of at least one hour each day and at least 24 consecutive hours each weekend, typically more as our program runs from Sunday morning through Friday evening.

Staff Qualities

We are looking for staff that are willing to serve as role models in faith and life to campers and peers following the model of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Kindness, curiosity, resiliency, and a desire to always go the extra mile in service of campers and camp are key. Within our forest setting, a willingness to serve in outdoor environments is important.
