Camp Overview
SOAR365’s Summer Camp at Camp Baker welcomes children and adults with disabilities, offering an accessible camp experience filled with outdoor fun, all under the care of highly trained and compassionate counselors. Across 10 weeks, counselors will assist with personal hygiene, meals, toileting, medication management, and activities, while nursing staff provide medical services. A low staff-to-camper ratio ensures high-quality programming and individualized attention. We respect that each of our campers is unique, with their own needs, desires, strengths and goals.
Located on 22 wooded acres, Camp Baker lets our campers enjoy a best-in-class, traditional summer camp experience, including: horseback riding, arts and crafts, swimming, fishing, paddle boating, hiking, and even outdoor tent camping. Caregivers are grateful for both the inclusive nature of this camp and the respite it provides. They take comfort in knowing their loved ones are enjoying a traditional summer camp with friends in a safe and welcoming environment. And our campers are not only having tons of fun — they are growing and developing new skills!

Staff Time Off
Weekly Schedule: Staff report for duty at 10 a.m. every Sunday for the start of a camp session. Staff time off begins Friday at approximately 2 p.m., following the staff meeting and clean up of camp. Every staff member must work up to two weekends between sessions to accommodate campers enrolled for two or more consecutive sessions.If SOAR365 uses a Day Camp model in 2022, the working hours could be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the exception of those with driving duties, or Talent Show nights.
Staff Qualities
We are looking for camp counselors who are specifically interested in working with adults and children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. Maturity, patience, kindness, a sense of humor, sound judgment and boundless energy are essential qualities. Our ideal candidates will have previous experience with (and a genuine dedication to) working with individuals with disabilities, using a person-centered approach.
