Camp Overview
Set on 52 acres of woods, trails, fields and aquatic areas of the Cleveland Metroparks, the Achievement Centers for Children’s Camp Cheerful offers campers with disabilities all the traditional camp activities including: hiking, swimming, fishing, canoeing, arts and crafts, nature study activities, games, campfire activities, music and sports. We have 4 cabins that counselors share with the campers they are supervising, that have bunk beds and hospital beds, as well as a Great Hall building where we host all meals as well as activities, such as a weekly talent show. Here on campus we also have an in-ground, heated outdoor swimming pool (up to 5 feet in depth), a fishing pond, a creek we go canoeing in, a hiking trail, campfire pit, and horse barn! We also offer year-round Therapeutic Horseback Riding sessions. Residential camp serves kids ages 7 and up to adult. There are multiple sessions throughout the summer that serve adults old (ages 18 and up). We are currently recruiting Residential Camp Camp Counselor provide high quality primary care and support for the campers. Must be 18 years of age. Minimum of one year of experience working with children. Previous camp experience with children with disabilities a plus. Requires outdoor work in all weather conditions. Come join the fun!

Staff Time Off
Most sessions run from Sunday night to Friday morning. Counselors are off from about noon on Friday until Sunday's at 5:30, and have 1 hour off per day during rest hour (a 2 hour period you split with another counselor), in addition to 1 night off per week (from 6pm to 7:30am the next day).
