Camp Overview

The mission of the Girl Scouts is to “Build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.” Girl Scouts’ four Program Pillars—STEM, Life Skills, Outdoors, and Entrepreneurship—form the foundation of the Girl Scout program and come together to build girls’ curiosity, kindness, and can-do spirit. At Camp Conowingo, we strive to build an environment of both physical and emotional safety and wellbeing for campers and staff that promotes trying new things, developing confidence, and striving to overcome obstacles. We also intend to provide fun, engaging, and exciting programming that encourages campers to develop a strong sense of self, critical thinking skills, healthy relationships, and problem-solving skills.

Staff Time Off

Staff will have two hours of scheduled time off daily, as well as the opportunity for some nights off with a designated curfew, and at least one day off per week (usually Saturday).

Staff Qualities

As a team member at Camp Conowingo, you will play a crucial role in fostering an environment where everyone thrives. We're looking for staff members who are ready to uphold the Girl Scout Promise and Law in all their interactions, and lead by example through demonstrating respect, appreciation, and acceptance, ensuring every individual feels valued and included. We're also looking for staff who are ready to take on the challenges camp brings, like rapidly changing weather, schedule changes, limited personal space and time, helping campers with homesickness and other issues, and encounters with any number of critters and crawlies. Each member of our camp staff will practice constant communication and teamwork, as well as take initiative through leading by example during each aspect of camp.
