Camp Overview
As a part of the international YMCA movement and an important element of Youngstown’s Association, Camp Fitch has grown a lot since it’s founding in 1914 on the banks of the Little Beaver River. Although the location changed to the shores of Lake Erie over 85 years ago, we still live by the values upon which we were founded to model and instill in kids.
More than 16,000 people visit Camp Fitch for at least a few days every year through our resident summer camp, classroom field trips, retreats and other outdoor adventures. Many of these campers tell us they think it’s the best place in the world. This sentiment isn’t because of the fun and games — rather it’s due to the sense of wonder generated by the deep, lasting relationships forged here and a spiritual resonance so often stimulated by the time spent in the outdoors. The impact of a Fitch experience can last a lifetime.

Staff Time Off
Staff will have two evenings off each week (either Monday and Wednesday OR Tuesday and Thursday) from 7:30-11 pm. Staff will have one hour off of the activity schedule each day. Staff will have a 24 hour leave every weekend except for two. (Saturday 11am to Sunday 11am).
