Camp Overview
Camp Foster YMCA is a 100+ year old program that allows kids to be kids! As a staff member you get to play outdoors, work with people from all over the world, spend every waking moment with children, and rise to the challenges of being a professional role model by following the values of respect, responsibility, caring, honesty, and fairness. You’ll learn important on the job skills that you will use in ANY future career. Camp is a great addition to your resume. It is a job where YOU get to make a different in the world!

Staff Time Off
Staff have one cabin time off each day (approximately 1 hour) while their co-counselor does an activity with the cabin and then they switch for the next cabin time. Staff also receive one evening off a week from 5:30p.m. to 11:00p.m. and 24 hours off starting on Saturday morning after the campers have checked out and ending on Sunday morning when staff meeting begins. Staff are not allowed to leave camp for their daily hour off but can leave camp property on their evening off and weekends if they would like.
Staff Qualities
We are looking for staff who have a positive attitude, strong work ethic and integrity, and are adaptable. We live by five values at Camp Foster (respect, responsibility, caring, honesty, and fairness) and we are looking for staff who are good role models and live by these values in their daily life. We have a wide variety of activities at camp and are willing to train staff in what interests them. There are some activities that everyone will be trained in and others that require additional training prior to all staff training such as lifeguarding, challenge course facilitators, and ranch staff.
