Camp Overview
Since 1925, Camp Green Eyrie has offered girls the best of both camping worlds with their day and overnight camp programs. Nestled in the farming community of Harvard, girls have been swimming, boating, roasting marshmallows and making new friends at Camp Green Eyrie for almost a century. Camp Green Eyrie is situated on 52 acres and boasts magnificent shoreline on Bare Hill Pond, allowing users an abundance of water activities. For overnight camp, each week on three select afternoons’ girls will get the chance to explore their own desires through Camper Choice activities. After arriving at camp, girls will individually choose activities that range from spending the entire afternoon at the waterfront, challenging themselves and their team on our ropes course, or shooting arrows at the archery range. They can launch their kayak on Bare Hill Pond, and then learn about the mysteries of water at the Sara Hardy Science Center at Chenowith. Girls can sing traditional camp songs around the fire, voyage into the forests and fields and play old and new games. It’s their time to spend how they want. Explore the traditions of the camp radio show, girl-led programming, forming new friendships, enjoying adventures, and so much more all while having an unforgettable summer at Camp Green Eyrie.

Hmm... What's your role?
Staff Time Off
Staff receive 2.5 hours off each day where they are welcome to relax in the staff lounge, do laundry, shower or go off site. In addition staff receive one evening off a week. Staff receive a full 24 hours off every 7 days.
Camp is a demanding work environment, so it is vitally important that staff use that time to recharge. Recharging looks different for each person – a nap, a long walk, a (hopefully) hot shower, curling up in a hammock with a good book, or a phone call home.
Staff Qualities
Camp staff have a dynamic, ever-changing job. All camp staff are role models for girls. Camp counselors are flexible, hard-working, detail-oriented, big thinkers. They are good under pressure, have great conflict resolution skills, and understand the importance of time-management. Counselors are assigned one patrol of girls with whom they spend the majority of the week. The counselors help strengthen group bonds, serve as a role-model, mediate conflicts within the group, and foster friendships. Counselors also plan and lead activities, ensure safety procedures are followed, supervise (and instruct) kapers, make sure the unit is kept tidy, facilitate night-time Cabin Chats, and generally supervise their patrol. Activity Staff spend most of the day facilitating program in their assigned activity. This includes enforcing safety protocols, maintaining equipment, ordering supplies, and keeping the area clean. Some activity staff have additional, specific assigned responsibilities. All staff are also expected to participate in all-camp activities including campfire songs and skits, leading group games, leading Interest Groups, leading songs in the dining hall, and calling meals.
