Camp Overview

Throughout the summer we will have 7 sessions. Some of those sessions are for youth campers (ages 7-21) and some are for adult campers(age 18+). During a typical youth session campers have a rustic camp experience in a supportive environment. Campers travel with their cabin groups to traditional camp activities such as swimming, arts & crafts, nature, horseback riding, music, sports & games, and much more. Structured camp days include three activities in the morning and three activities in the afternoon. Each day ends with an evening program such as a dance, campfire, talent show, or group games. Our adult sessions offer a relaxed atmosphere. Campers choose traditional camp programs in which to participate such as swimming, pottery, music, and sports. In addition, we offer adult campers the opportunity to participate in day trips. Each day, two trips leave camp. Adult campers choose from trips including baseball games, the rodeo, dinner theaters, the race track, tubing, fishing, and more. While the abilities of our campers may vary, our camp staff assist campers in making their daily activity choices as well as modifying the activity to each camper’s individualized ability.

Staff Time Off

Night Breaks: Each night after all of the campers are in bed, everyone gets at least a 1 hour break. The specifics of the breaks can be determined within the cabin. There must be at least one staff member over the age of 18 in each cabin at all times. The breaks start after all campers are in bed and end at midnight during youth sessions. The curfew is pushed back to 1am during adult sessions. During these night breaks you may stay in your own cabin, or go up to the dining hall or recreation hall to hang out with other staff.

Nights Off: Everyone gets ONE(1) night off per week. If it is an 7 day session you’ll get one night, if it’s a 12 day session you will get TWO(2) nights off. These nights off start after dinner announcements and last through 8am the next morning. You are more than welcome to leave camp for the night, or go out for the evening and come back and sleep at camp…as long as you are ready to work at 8am. Each night we will make one trip to take people into town if they do not have their own vehicle. Also…if you are 21 years old or older and on the driving list, you may request a vehicle to use for your night off…if there are vehicles available for that night. We cannot guarantee vehicle availability-they are first come, first serve!!!

Days Off: After each session there is a 2 ½ day break before the next session starts. Most people leave camp and visit friends, family, or go sightseeing. Camp is open for those people who wish to stay and there are leadership team member(s) on call for the break in case of emergency. Many of the staff will get together and organize trips to surrounding points of interest, such as Washington D.C., Gettysburg, Virginia, Baltimore, MD, and New York City. These breaks are an opportunity for everyone to rest and have fun before the next session starts. Do not worry about pre-planning your breaks before coming to camp, there is plenty to do and we can assist you with this.

**Please note that there is NO food service at camp during these breaks, but we do make a trip to Wal-Mart where you can purchase what you need for the break**
