Camp Overview

Camp Kamaji is a sleepaway, summer camp for girls ages 7 through 16 years old located in Northern Minnesota, run by Kat Martin and Jason Nelson. Our mission is that…Kamaji is a safe, happy, fun-filled place for campers to come unplug, try new activities, learn new skills, be silly and goofy, develop a true sense of self, be deliriously happy and make really strong friendships with campers and staff alike. What do we look for in our staff? As succinctly as possible Kamaji looks for staff who are friendly and trust-worthy, reliable and responsible, creative and patient, supportive and respectful, dedicated and hard-working, understanding and caring, fun and upbeat, generous and child-like.

Kamaji staff have access to our staff lounge for downtime and time-off. The staff lounge includes wifi, private locker with 2 outlets, refrigerator, microwave, and kettle. Staff receive one day (24 consecutive hour period) and one night (14 consecutive hour period). Kamaji staff are always welcome to spend their time-off in camp to take advantage of activities and free meals, or they can travel to local scenes inluding the Headwaters of the Mississippi, Walker and Bemidji. Walker and Bemidji are approximately 25 minutes from camp and have great local restaurants, boat races, carnivals, a movie theater, mini golf, and American franchises including Wal-Mart, Target, and Starbucks.
