Camp Overview
Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert are traditional all-boy and all-girl summer camps located in the heart of lake country in Minnesota. With over 112-years of continuous business operation, our camps operate as two of the longest standing camps in America... and for good reason.
With nearly 800-acres of pristine forested property, our two camps are set up to allow for lifelong friendships, experiences, and skills to be gained over the course of the summer. What is unique towards Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert are several factors. Firstly, you will meet few camps whose history extends as far back as ours does. It is the rich tradition of our camps that has brought back summer staff year after year after year to allow for this history to grow. Secondly, we have been operating under a singular family over the course of four generations.
What this means is that you will have the opportunity to speak with the same family whose vision has inspired camp on a daily basis. Our natural outdoor environment and unique location on one of Minnesota's premier lakes (Lake Hubert), paired with the men and women who are hired allows for something special to be created every summer. Being a mission driven organization, we recruit staff whose primary focus for attending camp is towards enhancing the lives of the campers.
When a lot of people like this come together in one environment, which is what we do every summer, the experience that is had by campers and counselors alike is one that leads to some of the greatest relationships you will ever cultivate, skills that will help you during all phases and stages of your life, and one-in-a-lifetime memories knowing that you have helped to positively change countless lives.

Staff Time Off
Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert are incredibly generous in their time-off compared to most full-time traditional summer camps.
What we offer is a 24-hour period off once every six-to-nine days, totaling three days off per session (sessions being one-month long).
There is also a session break in-between session one and session two that is roughly 24-36 hours. During the summer of 2021, much like many other camps across the nation who were able to stay open, Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert required that staff remain on-camp premises without leaving.
We provided lodging that was outside-of-cabins to help our staff recharge away from their cabin groups during this time off.
During your time at camp, you will also receive built in time during the day-time and evenings to recharge. We are still planning to see what time off during the summer will be in 2022 with the current delta variant will look like and will update all hired staff on what to expect as we learn more.
Staff Qualities
One of the most important traits we hire on at Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert is a desire to work with the kids.We look for people who are excited about the opportunity to help others. In this role, you have a chance to be the older brother or older sister you always wish you might have had (or did have!).
What this means is that you will have a lot of ability to truly impact the lives of the young men and women who attend our camps. The counselors who enjoy camp the most are those who enjoy spending time with the kids who are here.
Unsure of if this is you due to it being your first time at camp? That is okay. What we are assessing is if you are a person who enjoys helping others.
We look for following traits, although not all are required to be a counselor at Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert: leadership capabilities, teaching backgrounds or a willingness to teach, specialized knowledge of a specific skill, a desire to build community, communication skills, time management, the ability to execute against a plan, a willingness to help others.
