Camp Overview
Outdoor adventure. Creative expression. Character development. Sense of wonder. These are just some of the amazing experiences that you will facilitate for girls while working at Camp Molly Lauman, a Girl Scout camp in America’s heartland. Imagine water adventures, outdoor artistry, spa mixology, or transforming into a character based on your favorite fandom. In our woods girls search for fairies, save endangered dragons, practice superhero skills… as well as hike, and explore elements of our ecosystem. We are a rustic camp – girls sleep in platform tents without electricity and use pit latrines and counselors will sleep in small cabins. Living simply provides a chance for campers (and staff) to disconnect, unwind, and focus on building a stronger sense of self, without the distractions of the outside world. We give girls a chance to connect – with new friends, with their inner feelings, with nature, and with inspiring adults. Are you one of their future role models?

Staff Time Off
Staff take 2-hours off each full day of work. Staff have 12-24 hours off every weekend. Additionally, several weekends have longer 2-night breaks.
Staff will also have an extended period off during the Independence Day holiday before returning to camp on the 5th of July.
Before camp begins, international staff will be given the opportunity to do a bit of shopping; particularly for essential items that are hard to pack on the plane. Once camp starts, shopping trips are normally limited to weekends off, when international staff can join the planned activity; usually a trip to one of our local metropolitan cities (Columbus or Cincinnati) or they may go to the homes of local staff members. Transport to, and accommodation in Columbus is provided on weekends for all international staff.
Staff Qualities
Our staff are creative, hardworking, and kind. They are problem solvers who would rather pitch in to reach a conclusion than complain about an unsolved problem. They don't mind getting dirty and staying that way a little longer than they had hoped. They complement often and help always. They are ok watching a kid fail on a first, second, and even third attempt, but being there along the way, helping the kid process and grow towards success. They love to have fun but understand how to do that safely. They don't mind bugs, having wet feet, or sharing living quarters with wild animals.
