Camp Overview
Camp Pontiac is a premier co-ed overnight camp located in New York State. We are situated in the foothills of the Berkshire mountains midway between New York City and Boston. The camp accommodates approximately 250 boys and 250 girls, ranging in age from 7 to 16. We offer a structured yet relaxed program in a safe, spirited and fun filled environment where the campers and staff members are part of a family. We promote kindness, inclusion, the development of independence and self-confidence and a sense of self-worth.

On a typical day you will get one period off (out of five). During your off periods, you will have use of all courts and fields (when available), waterfront (but only if lifeguards are available and on-duty), Canteen, counselor lounge, ice cream parlor (when open) and on-camp movie theater (when available). Staff are on duty and are responsible for campers four nights per week; the other three nights, staff are free to enjoy their evening on or off camp. There is a camp curfew each evening.
Each staff member gets one day off per week during weeks 2 through 6; your day off will be determined during Staff Orientation. Places to visit on days off include:
- New York City: Approx. 2 hours north of NYC and we can arrange transportation to the nearest train station which will take you to Grand Central Station in Midtown Manhattan.
- Boston, MA: Approx. 2.5 hours from Boston and we have frequent scheduled bus trips for staff at a nominal fee.
- Great Barrington: A small boutique town in Massachusetts where you'll find good eats and Berkshire charm 30 mins from camp.
- Hudson, NY: Our closest city is just a 30 minute drive from camp. Here you'll find good food and art galleries along with our closest grocery stores & Walmart.
- Albany, NY: The capital city of New York State is just an hour’s drive from camp. It offers a large shopping mall.
