Camp Overview
Camp Skymeadow is located at the southern tip of Armstrong County, near Avonmore, about a one-hour drive from both Pittsburgh and Johnstown and about 150 miles south of Erie. Camp Skymeadow is our horse program headquarters! Situated on 371 acres of grassy meadows and forested hills, it features miles of trails that will challenge girls as they progress through our riding levels.
Skymeadow offers residential horseback riding, boating, and trip sessions for older girls, horse and water-based sessions for younger girls, family camp sessions, and Troop Core Camp.

Staff Time Off
Counselors have two hours off each day and are generally given one night off each week, depending on staffing needs. During this time off we request that you remain on camp. At the conclusion of camp on Friday, counselors have time off from around 4:00 P.M. on Friday (pending check-out, cleaning, etc.) to 10:00 A.M. on Sunday. If you are working a weekend program, you will receive one full day off the following week.
Staff Qualities
We are looking for staff excited about being outdoors, working with youth and creating a memorable experience for all. At Camp Skymeadow, we have a horse program which is a camp favorite! Horse experience is not necessary, but a plus. We are able to train for First Aid and Life Guard during staff training. Experience with water sports, archery, field games and crafts is a huge plus.
