Camp Overview
Camp Ton-A-Wandah is a private residential camp for girls located on 365 acres in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. Between 500-600 young girls (ages 5-16) attend one of three, 3-week summer camp sessions offered. Horseback riding, canoeing, kayaking, camp crafts, backpacking, rock climbing, drama, dance, music and a large variety of land sports are offered with evening programs that may include cabin skits, talent shows, sport competitions, and dances with the boys' camps to name a few. All staff members must attend the Youth Professional Develop Week , which is held during the 2 weeks immediately preceding the first camp session. If attending Red Cross Lifeguard, NAA Archery certification training, or NRA Riflery training a staff member must arrive no later than the day before the scheduled course; these dates will be discussed in the interview.

Staff Time Off
Staff are required to sign in and out on off-nights where program staff will be available to call if needed. Staff will receive one day and one evening off a week. Camp Ton-A-Wandah does have a curfew policy that is strictly enforced. If staff fail to return by curfew, Administrative Directors are informed and head counselors reach out to staff to ensure staff are safe and they will return to camp.
Staff Qualities
We look for women who are seeking to affect positive change in their campers' lives. They are engaged in their community or school, active, and are eager to serve. We seek for diversity within our staff to bring a wide range of cultural experiences to our campers to enrich their camp experience and the staffs' experience, as well.
