Hmm... What's your role?
Staff Time Off
We recognize that being a counselor is a hard job that requires plenty of free time to relax and recharge. Counselors have one period off per day and several nights off per week. In addition, counselors have five days off during the summer and have the opportunity to take advantage of our proximity to New York City, Philadelphia, Niagara Falls and other great sites in the Northeast. Counselors are welcome, and encouraged, to take advantage of all of our facilities during time-off, including relaxing in our staff lounge.
Staff Qualities
We’ve all had teachers, coaches and mentors that have touched our lives. Think back to these individuals and ask yourself why these people played such an important part in your life. We’re confident it is because they took an interest in you and pushed you to be the best you could be. As a counselor at Wayne, you will have the same opportunity to positively impact the lives of our campers!
As any good camp director will tell you, the key to a successful summer is the quality of the staff. Maintaining a beautiful facility and implementing a dynamic program is only meaningful if our staff supports the mission of providing a safe and caring environment for our campers. We consider the selection of our counselors to be our most important responsibility as directors. We select sensitive and enthusiastic individuals who are dedicated to working with children. Our staff is composed of college and high school coaches, teachers, undergraduate and graduate students.
