Camp Overview
At Midwest, we focus on an individualized approach while teaching campers to work in a group setting that fosters mutual respect, friendship, leadership and development. Our pluralistic approach allows campers and staff to learn, grow and play together and to encourage them to make informed choices about their Judaism and connection to Israel. With the help of the CYJ community, camp is a place where kids can be the best version of themselves.

Staff Qualities
The Camp Young Judaea Midwest staff is a tapestry of individuals who bring their own experience and skill to create a community of hard working and dedicated counselors. Some of our staff have grown up at CYJ Midwest, some have grown up at other camps and some are experiencing overnight camp for the first time. About one-quarter of our staff are Israeli, brought over through the Jewish Agency for Israel. This unique blend enables our staff to relate to each camper in a way that is meaningful and relevant
