Camp Overview
CampGroup’s camps are among the best summer camps in the United States. We have over 15 lakefront locations throughout the North Eastern United States and the Mid-West including co-ed camps, boys camps, and girls camps. If you join our team, you will change campers’ lives for the better, make lifelong friends, and gain professional skills. Spend your summer in the outdoors while getting to experience all that camp has to offer.

Staff Time Off
It differs between camps, but typically each counselor will spend a few nights a week “on” in a camper bunk getting campers ready for bed and prepared for whatever the next day brings. On nights not “on,” counselors are often free to go to town for late night meals, hit up the store for essentials, etc. The time off at night gives a few hours to counselors to unwind after long days. In addition to time off at night, counselors usually get 5-6 days off during a full season. When a day off begins is determined by the camp you are working at. During days off, counselors are typically free to explore the area around their camp, going on hikes, going to a beach, or explore nearby towns or cities.
Staff Qualities
Being a star waterskier or an expert tennis player might make it easier for a counselor to relay their knowledge to campers. But no amount of skill matters if our counselors aren’t warm and caring with children. A great counselor is also a great listener, shows respect for campers’ unique personalities, can persuade a tentative child to try something new yet daunting, and can read a situation intuitively. Lastly, having a can-do attitude, resilience, and the ability to find the good in any situation is a key part of success at camp.
