Camp Overview
Comstock Adventure Center sits along the shores of one of New York State’s famous Finger Lakes, Cayuga Lake, where we possess nearly 2 miles of lakefront. We are a Girl Scout camp and we serve girls from ages 7 – 17. We have beautiful cabin village units that sit up on stilts. The cabin village units include electricity for charging devices, bunk beds and overhead lights. Counselors sleep in a separate cabin from the camper cabins; each cabin village includes bunks for 24 campers and 4 counselors. Camp staff also have access to a staff lounge with Wi-Fi, a television (complete with Netflix), and space to store snacks, all for use during their time-off. All of our meals are served “family style” in our dining hall, and both campers and counselors help to keep meals running smoothly. In addition to helping with meal times, all camp staff can expect to help in camp clean-up during each end of session.
Our mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character through the summer camp environment, and we strongly support girls getting to build their own experience at camp, and try what interests them most. Our staff help make this happen! We are proud to offer a multitude of activities that come from our staff’s skills, so we are always looking for staff that are great teachers and are passionate about their particular skill. Important: If you are interested in being placed at Comstock, please know that all staff will be asked to lead elective activities. We will develop these activities around skills and passion you have. We do offer additional training for areas such as boating, archery and first aid.
The activities we offer at Comstock are as follows: swim programming, canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, banana boating, fishing, hiking, nature & STEM, the performing arts (dance, theater, ukulele), archery, arts and crafts, recreation, and outdoor living skills! All counselors can also look forward to leading weekly cook-out meals and sleep-out nights. We are looking for staff who are willing to immerse themselves in many different camp activities and share them with our girls, along with staff that are willing to be silly and “out there” sometimes, and act as great and inspiring role models for our developing young girls!
We also offer lifeguard training for our staff.
