Camp Overview
Danbee Arts and Dance Camp (DADC) is the best of both worlds! We serve girls ages 10-15. We provide our girls high quality arts and dance instruction, and they also get to have all of the fun of a traditional summer camp! DADC is located in the Berkshires of Massachusetts along the shores of Lake Ashmere. Our campers come for short sessions of 1 or 2 weeks at a time and choose to "Major" in the Arts or Dance. We place high value on creating a supportive sisterhood for our girls to learn and grow. Our program is not competitive - we focus on personal development for the girls, not on being the very best.
Our arts include: fine arts, ceramics, printmaking, jewelry and metalworking, digital arts (photography and graphic design).
Our dance classes include: ballet, hip hop, jazz, contemporary, lyrical.
Our traditional camp activities include: swimming, paddling, stand up paddleboarding, fishing, tubing, archery, outdoor living skills, pickleball, basketball, volleyball, yoga, acting/improv, and guitar.
A large majority of our staff are activity instructors who teach arts, dance or work as lifeguards at our waterfront, so we are always looking for staff with a lot of skills and experience in the arts or dance. We provide training for interested lifeguards. We also hire other staff to support camp operations in the kitchen or in our housekeeping department.
Our activity instructors also double as bunk staff - meaning if you’re teaching ceramics, you’ll also have an age group of girls you’re assigned to care for during cabin times. Staff are assigned 3 to a bunk with between 8-10 campers. Our bunks are practically brand new and nicely appointed. They have their own bathrooms and showers in them. Non-bunk support staff have their own cabin-style housing and use a communal shower house.

Staff Time Off
Staff receive daily time off and at least one day off per session. Exact schedules vary by position.
During time-off staff can venture into the nearby town or enjoy camp’s beautiful setting. Staff are provided a lounge space with high-speed WiFi to relax in.
Staff Qualities
Above everything else, we are deeply committed to changing girls’ lives through the power of camp, and we are looking for individuals for our staff who are just as committed to that mission as we are. Our ideal candidate for any position on our team has a strong work ethic, good communication skills, and is positive, mature, self-aware and flexible. We are also BIG on camp spirit - we look for staff who are enthusiastic and high energy, who can set a great tone for our girls! Bonus points if you’re not afraid to put yourself out there and be silly and show our girls that camp is a safe and supportive space.
