Camp Overview
The vision of the BSA is to prepare every eligble youth in America to become a responsible, participating citizen and leader who is guided by the Scout Oath and Law. The BSA just a few years ago created Scouts BSA which is a program for both girls and boys. We are a coed camp as well as a coed staff. We are a 700-acre (1.094 square mile), facility bordering the Appalachian Trail in Eastern Pennsylvania, Schuylkill County, PA. We offer programs for boys and girls ages 6-17 years of age. Our campers come to camp as "troops or units" with all their adult supervision. We staff all of our program, kitchen and maintenance areas. We are providing a $250 Visa Card to our International Staff who complete their agreement at camp in thanks for coming to Hawk Mountain.
Our program areas include:
- Swimming: 2 pools
- Waterfront: rowing, canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddle board and sailing on our lake
- Outdoor Skills: fishing, fly fishing, wilderness survival, first aid…
- Handicraft – leather work, basketry, pottery, wood carving, model design…
- Ecology and Conservation – environmental science, oceanography, astronomy, soil and water conservation …
