Camp Overview
Johnsonburg Camp and Retreat Center is on a beautiful 300 acres with a 14-acre pristine lake. There are rocks to climb, trails to hike, fish to catch, eagles and osprey, 26 seasonal cabins and 5 heated lodges. Campers enjoy meals in the large Dining Hall, eating family style. They also enjoy climbing and basketball in the large indoor gymnasium. Johnsonburg provides ½, 1 and 2 week summer camp programs for children, youth and families. Campers live in cabins, tents and lodges with campers of similar ages. Our main focus is on forming and living in Christian community. Campers participate in camp activities including: archery, arts and crafts, Bible study, boating, canoeing, challenge course, climbing wall, gaga ball, games, gardening, giant swing, high ropes, hiking, nature exploration, outdoor cooking, outdoor living skills, stand up paddle boarding, singing, swimming in the lake and pool, and worship. The staff are the best part of the campers' summer and we value a very diverse and inclusive community of campers and staff!

Staff Time Off
Staff get two hours of break time per day. Between session, staff get 23 hours off from 1pm on Saturday to 12pm on Sunday.
Staff Qualities
We are looking for staff who want to live in a close-knit, Christian community. We want staff who love to work with kids and make them feel welcome for who they are. We also hire staff who are enthusiastic and take initiative, and can work hard. This is a substance-free (no alcohol, drugs or smoking) camp.
