Camp Overview
Sandy Hill Camp is a family-owned and operated, licensed and ACA-accredited, residential summer camp located on 643 scenic acres overlooking the Upper Chesapeake Bay near the town of North East, Maryland. Since 1995, Sandy Hill has offered a variety of action-packed one and two-week sessions for boys and girls who have completed 2nd through 10th grades. The programs are designed to help each camper learn and grow through fun, educational, and character-building experiences. Staff Time Off
All cabin staff typically have two 75-minute periods off each day. Activity specialists have off most of each evening. All staff have off six of the eight camp weekends from 6pm on Friday to noon on Sunday. Sandy Hill also sponsors day trips on some Saturdays to New York City, Washington DC, and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware on the Atlantic Ocean.
Staff Qualities
Our program is designed for campers of all races, cultures and religions. The camp directors and many of the staff are Christians. However, there are staff and campers from many religious, racial, and cultural backgrounds every year at camp. Staff do not need to sign a statement of faith or believe any certain doctrine. Our program is activity based. There are no camper Bible studies, sermons, required religious services, etc. As a staff, we do pray for the kids and the camp often, and we are serious about being positive adult role models and living a values-centered lifestyle.
