Camp Algonquin incorporates the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility as part of each day and activity. In todays' challenging world we feel it is important that campers learn to place other's needs ahead of their own priorities. The learning experiences at Camp Algonquin will help build self-confidence, teach new skills and enhance relationships with fellow campers and staff.
Camp Algonquin sits on Algonquin Lake just 10 minutes from Hastings, Michigan. We are located just on hour from Lake Michigan and 3 hours from Chicago, Illinois.

Staff Time Off
The staff is on duty from Sunday at 11 AM to Friday at 5:30 PM. Staff will get 1-3 hours off per day Monday through Thursday totaling at least 8 hours throughout the week. These times tend to be either mid-day or in the evenings. The staff has both Friday and Saturday nights off. The international staff is able to stay at camp on the weekends or go home with other staff members to experience the local culture.
