Camp Overview
YMCA Camp Nissokone is located on 170 acres of spectacular lakefront in Oscoda, Michigan.
The camp has a wide variety of age appropriate activities and programs, as we take full advantage of the lake and 1,000 acres of national forest that surround our camp. Nissokone is perfect for getting into nature for adventure and play under the careful guidance of responsible counselors.
Mission: To put Judeo Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. We are not a religious camp, but we are based on the four core values of the YMCA: Respect, Responsibility, Caring and Honesty. Philosophy: We’re here to show kids all they can do when they believe in themselves.
To help them realize this is a place where they are welcome, they belong and can be themselves. To try new things. To make new friends. And be a part of something great. The three areas of focus for the YMCA are Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.

Staff Time Off
Follow ACA recommended time off policy. Staff receive one continuous 24 hour period off each week (typically Sat 1pm - Sun 1pm) in addition to one hour off for each full day worked.
Staff Qualities
Looking for hardworking and reliable individuals that are willing to learn and love the prospect of working with young people. Adaptable to new challenges and work very well as part of a greater team.
