Modern Slavery Statement
American Institute For Foreign Study (AIFS) is absolutely committed to combatting slavery and human trafficking within its organisation and its supply chains and to ensuring that it does business in an ethical manner. AIFS believes that this commitment will benefit young people and other stakeholders affected by AIFS’s activities.
AIFS considers its main exposure to the risk of slavery and human trafficking to be minimal. It recognises, however, that it is but one link in a supply chain to the end user that is long and, potentially global. Therefore, it is essential that AIFS’s suppliers also understand and appreciate the standards of business conduct that are expected of any company that does business with AIFS: AIFS will not do business with any other organisation, in the United Kingdom or abroad, which knowingly supports or is found to involve itself in slavery, servitude or forced or compulsory labour.
Organisation's structure
AIFS is one of the oldest, largest and most respected cultural exchange organizations in the world. Since 1964, AIFS has been a leading organization providing cultural exchange and educational opportunities for more than 1.5 million young people. AIFS operates 10 global locations and has program offerings in 29 countries worldwide. Our ultimate parent company, American Institute For Foreign Study, Inc has its head office in Stamford, CT, USA.
In the UK, we operate as American Institute For Foreign Study (U.K.) Ltd, which is a limited company registered under the laws of England and Wales. AIFS has not, to its knowledge, conducted any business with another organisation which has been found to have involved itself with modern slavery.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 2024.
