Yay – you’re now on the Visa Ready option and have given yourself the BEST possible chance of heading out to camp this summer!
Here’s what you need to do next:
- Book your visa appointment at the US embassy – you will get a link from the Visa page on your online CA site with all the information you need soon. Keep checking your site.
- Police Check – login to you Camp America account and check this has been submitted. If not, complete this ASAP. We need your police check before we can issue your visa forms.
- Payments – please make sure your payments are up-to-date and there is no outstanding balance.
- Medical Form – download and complete your medical form (if you would prefer to wait for a placement before taking this to a doctor that is okay) You can access the form by clicking HERE
**Please also check your name on your Camp America account - this must match your Passport exactly to ensure your visa papers are correct. If your name is incorrect please contact us immediately by email to [email protected]**
Make sure to keep checking your emails and Junk Mail for any contact from camps and respond straight away – Camp Directors are looking at your application now! If any contact details on your CA profile are incorrect please let us know so you don’t miss any offers from camps!
Hopefully it won’t be long before you receive a camp placement! Once this is confirmed you will be sent an email notifying you and this will be added to the Placement page of your Camp America account, you’ll then need to ACCEPT as soon as possible or get in touch with us at [email protected] with any questions. Once your placement is confirmed the final programme payment of £424 (Camp America flights package) or £224 (Arranging Own Flights) will be added to your Payments.
We expect you to receive a great camp offer, however if you are not placed by 30 June we will be in touch and you will receive a refund of the US Embassy J1 visa fee and any payments made to Camp America above the initial 1st instalment. Please note the DBS/Police Check fee and any expenses incurred obtaining your medical form are non-refundable. Remember, if you cancel prior to 30 June you will not be eligible for any refunds.
Although it is very likely that you will be placed with plenty of notice, just a reminder that as we get into June you may be asked to hop onto a plane to the US and start your camp placement with shorter notice. Don’t worry if this does happen we will be in touch to make sure you are prepared and ready to go!
For those living in Australia and New Zealand: Please login to your online CA site to make your final payment and complete the medical form (see link in the bullet points above). We will then be able to issue visa papers for you to book your appointment at the US Consulate as quickly as possible.
